Ahmedabad: A 63-year-old retired woman has approached Vasna police, alleging that her daughter-in-law removed gold, silver, platinum and diamond jewellery worth around Rs 50.9 lakh from a jointly operated bank locker without informing her or her son.
The family submitted an application at Vasna police station on April 10, 2024, and lodged the complaint on Sunday.
After the husband’s death in Nov 2023, his name was removed and the locker continued to carry the names of the son and daughter-in-law. The daughter-in-law visited the bank on April 10, 2024, and allegedly removed all the valuables without informing her husband or mother-in-law, according to the complaint.
The complainant’s husband had hired the locker at the Vasna branch of a nationalised bank with himself, their son and daughter-in-law as joint holders, according to the complaint. The family placed their savings in the form of gold and silver coins and jewellery in the locker.
