Bengaluru: Police recently cracked two back-to-back chain-snatching cases, arresting three persons and recovering 129gm gold jewellery and two two-wheelers used in the crimes in north Bengaluru, all valued at Rs 15.5 lakh.
In the second case, Nataraj G, 40, a businessman from Hoovinayakanahalli, was attacked and robbed of his gold chain on the night of Sept 4. Acting on inputs shared by informants, police arrested Sathyam Samarendra from his residence in Muneshwaranagar. Based on information provided during interrogation, police recovered the chain and seized a two-wheeler used in the crime from his residence. As the victim approached, another person came from behind and struck him on the back of his head with a stone. The duo then robbed him of a gold chain and fled. The police nabbed Neeraj Yadav and Robin Singh . They recovered a 39gm gold chain and seized a two-wheeler used in the offence. It was the first crime committed by the trio, who came to Bengaluru recently in search of work.
The victim was walking near a temple when a youth, who had earlier purchased groceries from his shop, sought his attention.
