Bengaluru: A couple working in a farmhouse died by suicide after a fight allegedly over a mobile phone at Hegganur in Satanur-Kanakapura Tuesday afternoon.
Mahadev alias Madaiah, 54, and wife Maramma, 52, from Hanur in Chamarajanagar, worked at a farm owned by Shivakumar , police said. Police said the couple would fight over different issues. Seeing him dead, Maramma called up a relative, identified as Vijay, explained what happened and then hanged herself. Vijay, who works at a nearby farm, rushed to the spot, but the couple had died by then. The duo’s children are living with their grandparents in Hanur.
