Mangaluru: Commuters using the City/Service bus stand, popularly known as State Bank bus stand, one of the busiest transit hubs in Mangaluru, have raised concerns over poor sanitation, open urination, littering and inadequate security. The lack of basic civic amenities, including dustbins and CCTV cameras, has made the terminus uncomfortable for passengers and raised concerns about their safety. Azeez Parthipady, president of the Dakshina Kannada Bus Owners’ Association, criticised the lack of basic infrastructure at the terminus. Responding to the concerns, Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) commissioner Rahul Ratnam Pandey assured that the civic body will look into the issues.
