Bengaluru : The Karnataka high court has recently passed an interim order directing Greater Bengaluru Authority ( GBA) to ensure that no construction activities are carried out in Survey no 142 of Pattandur Agrahara, KR Pura, Bengaluru East taluk until Sept 3, the next date of hearing.
Justice R Nataraj passed this order on Aug 27, after hearing a petition filed by Namma Whitefield RWA Federation. Many high-rise buildings, numbering between 40-50 have sprung up in the said area, which has become a congested layout as only narrow approach road is available to commute, according to the petitioners. The petitioner has also sought for a direction to BDA to take necessary action against bifurcation of the converted lands by way of unauthorised layouts/ illegal constructions in survey numbers 139 and 142.

The judge further directed the GBA commissioner to submit an affidavit that the construction activity is stopped. The petitioner federation submitted that despite BDA ordering demolition of unauthorised buildings, Skyline Developers are carrying on construction activities and also encumber upon the developed portion. On the other hand, the counsel for GBA submitted that though the area in question has been entrusted to its jurisdiction, no steps have been taken so far. Download the TOI App.
