Chennai: A guest worker was found hanging inside a house at Vadakkuppattu near Oragadam with multiple injuries to his head, neck and body. Police suspect that he had been beaten to death before his body was hanged to make it appear like suicide. Neighbours who noticed the man hanging inside the room alerted Oragadam police.

Preliminary inquiries revealed that the deceased, whose identity is yet to be established, was a guest worker who had been staying in the house with five other men, all of whom were employed at a private factory in the locality. Police found bloodstains across the room and injuries on the man’s body. The body was sent to Chengalpet Government Hospital for a postmortem. Police suspect that the man was assaulted inside the room and subsequently hanged. The five men who had been staying with him were found missing when police reached the house. Oragadam police have registered a case and are trying to establish the identity.
