CHENNAI: Passengers and a Railway Protection Force constable rescued a 69-year-old man who slipped and was trapped between a moving train and a platform at the Guindy railway station here on Thursday evening. The incident occurred around 5.30pm when a Villupuram-Chennai Beach train stopped at platform 1 and began to move. As the train moved, he was dragged for about 50 metres. RPF personnel provided him first aid and called a 108 ambulance.

Elias suffered an injury on his left leg. He received further treatment in the ambulance before returning home. Police advised passengers to avoid boarding and deboarding from moving trains.
