“The park will help attract investments of up to Rs 2,000 crore in the semiconductor sector and create employment opportunities for around 5,000 people,” the chief minister said.
CHENNAI: Chief minister C Joseph Vijay on Monday announced a Rs 175-crore Semiconductor and Electronics Manufacturing Park at Maduramangalam in Kancheepuram district, aiming to attract up to Rs 2,000 crore in investments and create around 5,000 direct and indirect jobs. Vijay also announced a Rs 400-crore Coimbatore FinTech Hub to be established by TIDCO through public-private participation.
The park will be established by SIPCOT and will feature research and development (R&D) facilities to support companies setting up semiconductor manufacturing units, Vijay said while making the announcement under Rule 110 in the Assembly.

The announcement comes as Tamil Nadu seeks to expand its footprint in the semiconductor industry and attract a larger share of investments in the sector. The park is expected to provide infrastructure and R&D support for new semiconductor and electronics manufacturing facilities.
