Chennai: A balcony of a 40-year-old building collapsed on Kutty Meastry Street in Seven Wells early Wednesday, damaging an auto-rickshaw and seven two-wheelers parked below. Police said the first-floor balcony suddenly collapsed in the early hours, sending debris onto the road and the vehicles parked below. The building, owned by Thomas of Foreshore Estate, had four shops on the ground floor and four residential units on the first floor. The impact damaged all eight vehicles. Personnel from Seven Wells police station and Fire and Rescue Services reached the location and cleared the debris.
