T T V Dhinakaran and C Joseph Vijay

In a statement, Dhinakaran said the govt’s release claimed that the six-day London visit resulted in MoUs and letters of intent involving more than Rs 15,300 crore and the potential to generate over 10,000 direct and indirect jobs. Dhinakaran asked when the investments announced during the trip would materialise.

He said this contrasted with the “reels propaganda” by TVK functionaries that Vijay would attract huge investments during his foreign trip. He questioned the expenditure incurred by the govt on the visit. CHENNAI: AMMK general secretary T T V Dhinakaran on Thursday demanded that the Tamil Nadu govt release a white paper detailing the investments secured during chief minister C Joseph Vijay’s visit to London.

Citing the govt’s statement, Dhinakaran said Vijay met investors and signed MoUs on Sept 14 during his six-day stay in London. Dhinakaran said the TVK govt should provide details of the MoUs signed on each day of his stay, the quantum of investment involved in each agreement, the employment expected to be generated and when the projects would be implemented. “What was the CM doing during the remaining five days? Whom did he meet during these days? And what steps were taken during these days to attract investments?” he asked.
