Chennai: Amid speculation that he might enter politics, actor Dhanush held a meeting of the women’s wing members of his fan-association-turned-welfare-movement in Chennai on Sunday.
When reporters sought his comments on the speculation about his political entry, he chose not to respond and said the fan meet went well. “Romba santhoshama irunthathu (it was a happy meet),” Dhanush, clad in a white dhoti and shirt, said after the meeting held at a private college near Semmancheri. TNCC president Manickam Tagore took an indirect dig at Dhanush, alleging that BJP was attempting to create a “political confusion with an actor”.
Though Dhanush was expected to make a speech hinting at political plans, he chose to cut short his speech with a few lines of advice and Diwali wishes to his fans. Dhanush gifted silver lamps to all the women who participated in the meet. What stirred a debate was the image of a lotus engraved on the lamps.
