New Delhi: A 32-year-old man was murdered, and his body was thrown into Najafgarh drain by two men over an old dispute, police said. Police apprehended the two accused after the body was found floating near Badusarai village Wednesday.

Police identified the accused as Sagar (26) and Parveen (30), both residents of Badusarai.

Bricks were also found tied to the body, apparently to prevent it from floating to the surface, police said. The attack was allegedly planned over a previous dispute, said a senior police officer. The deceased was identified as Vikram , a resident of Badusarai. A PCR call was received at Chhawla police station Wednesday evening regarding the dead body, which was first noticed by a driver while returning home from work. On reaching the spot, police found injuries on the back of the deceased’s head, allegedly caused by a heavy object. The area was inspected by crime and forensic teams, following which the body was sent to a mortuary for postmortem examination.

Further inquiry revealed that the deceased had been missing since Oct 25, after which his family had registered a complaint on Oct 27. Efforts to track down the accused, along with technical analysis, resulted in two men being apprehended within 12 hours of finding the body.

A case has been registered under relevant sections of the BNS, and further investigation is underway to establish the individual roles of the accused persons.
