New Delhi: A van carrying nine schoolchildren overturned at Karkari Mor Flyover in east Delhi’s Gagan Vihar Monday, leaving two children injured.
A PCR call regarding the accident was received at Jagatpuri police station around 12:25 pm. In another fatal accident in Rohini , a 35-year-old man died after a motorcycle came beneath a truck in outer Delhi’s Shahbad Dairy, police said. One of them, Balbir Singh (35), a resident of Prakash Vihar in Sector 28, Rohini, succumbed to his injuries in hospital. Eyewitnesses told police that the truck driver, Munna Lal (55), resident of Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, was allegedly intoxicated and drove in a rash and negligent manner.
Police said at least three people were injured in the accident. The injured children were taken for medical examination at two hospitals. The driver, Harsh , is a resident of Shahdara. An FIR has been registered. An e-rickshaw was found in a mangled condition. Police are tracing the other injured persons. Police apprehended him.
