New Delhi: An 18-month-old boy died after falling from a scooter following a collision with a three-wheeled cargo vehicle in north Delhi’s Derawal Nagar Monday afternoon. Police have arrested the cargo vehicle driver, identified as Girish , in connection with the incident.

The child was travelling with his family from their residence in Cigarette Wala Bagh, Model Town, to visit a doctor, according to police. The boy’s mother was holding him on her lap while her brother was riding the scooter when it was allegedly hit by the cargo vehicle. Police have registered an FIR at Model Town police station under relevant BNS provisions for rash driving, causing death by negligence and endangering human life. Download the TOI App.
The impact caused the child to slip from his mother’s arms and fall onto the road, suffering serious head injuries. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
