The Delhi Assembly received the email around 8.30am, following which security agencies were alerted and necessary checks were initiated. The Cyber Cell is examining the emails and tracing their origin for necessary legal action. Sources said Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta received the threat email. Separately, the Civic Centre security authorities received another email around 10am, which was subsequently shared with Delhi Police, officials said. Officials said no suspicious object or substance was found during the search.
After receiving the threat, personnel from Kamla Market police station, local police and security agencies at the Civic Centre searched the premises. The Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) was also alerted through the police control room to conduct an anti-sabotage check (ASC).
