NEW DELHI: Connaught Place’s Inner Circle will go car-free on Sunday, October 4, as the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) plans to organise various activities with community participation including cycling, fitness, music and other street activities in the heart of Delhi. Organised by the Raahgiri Foundation, Delhi Traffic Police and Fit India, in association with the NDMC, the event ‘Raahgiri Day’ aims to transform the Inner Circle into a people-first public space, with motorised vehicles making way for pedestrians and cyclists, said officials. The organisers said the programme will also highlight sustainable mobility and clean air. The event will also feature a live performance by popular Indian rock band Euphoria at Central Park. The event will also feature local cultural performances, sports and fitness activities, street art, interactive workshops and activities focused on youth participation, civic engagement and environmental stewardship.
