NEW DELHI: Police have stepped up outreach efforts among residents, students and the youth ahead of a protest by CJP, Left groups and AAP’s student outfits on October 10. Authorities have identified around 10-15 social media channels allegedly involved in sharing fake AI-generated content. Security arrangements remained heightened across Delhi ahead of the October 10 protest.

Sources said checks were being conducted at hotels to track last-minute bookings. Officials said the outreach was aimed at preventing any mobilisation that could result in tension or disruption, particularly around sensitive locations. Personnel are reaching out to young people, urging them not to participate in any activity that could lead to a law-and-order situation. Teams have contacted market welfare associations, resident welfare associations and Aman committees in various areas. They have been asked to cooperate with the authorities and counsel people against getting involved in activities that could disturb public order. Outreach efforts have also been extended to religious places and their representatives, with authorities urging them to help maintain peace and discourage any activity that could lead to tension. Railway stations and other transit points were also under watch, with personnel approaching groups found gathering at these locations to inquire about their plans. They are also monitoring users reposting such material to amplify its reach. Personnel have been asked to remain in touch with local representatives and stay alert to developments ahead of the proposed protest.
