New Delhi: Delhi govt has approved a One Zone, One Operator project worth Rs 17,969 crore, under which the city will be divided into six zones and each will have a single operator responsible end-to-end for sewer lines, manholes, pumping stations and complaints, water minister Parvesh Verma said Wednesday.
It also provides for 100% mechanical and robotic sewer cleaning,” an official said.

If there is a problem, the system should know about it, someone should be responsible for fixing it, and the work should be tracked till it is completed. “The system will move from reactive, complaint-based repairs to planned preventive maintenance, with geo-tagged inspections and real-time monitoring through a central command centre. DJB has also approved a proposal under which individual water connections will be sanctioned to domestic and non-domestic units where technically feasible and prescribed conditions are met, irrespective of building height.
