FSSAI has issued a notice to AB Hotels Ltd, operator of Radisson Blu Hotel, for food safety violations.

It added that oils with Total Polar Compound (TPC) values of 31 and 24.4 were being used in the NYC kitchen. The food regulator also reported inadequate cleaning and sanitisation, stagnant water, and issues with drainage and food waste.

“The FBO (food business operator) has been directed to take immediate corrective measures and submit a detailed action taken report with supporting documentary and photographic evidence wherever applicable,” the FSSAI said in a social media post. The FSSAI said checks to establish the suitability of cooking oil were not conducted as required. Pest control deficiencies were noted, with cockroach and fly activity observed. Checks during food procurement and receipt were found to be inadequate, including the acceptance of fungal-affected and deteriorated fruits and vegetables. Gaps were also identified in approved-vendor records and traceability. The authority also flagged improper segregation of raw and cooked foods, vegetarian and non-vegetarian items, allergenic and non-allergenic foods, as well as food and non-food items. Food handlers were found working without gloves and hairnets, wearing jewellery and having long nails. The FSSAI licences were not prominently displayed, while deficiencies were also recorded in compliance with licence conditions and the coverage of food business activities.

NEW DELHI: The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) on Friday issued a notice to AB Hotels Ltd, operator of the Radisson Blu Hotel in New Delhi, over non-compliance with food safety and hygiene requirements, directing it to take immediate corrective measures.
