The development comes amid continuing student protests on campus, following which the university has extended online classes until November 8, 2026.

The notice states that the students’ presence in the Gulistan-e-Ghalib Building, which houses the departments of Political Science and Economics, is “unlawful” and disrupting the smooth functioning of the departments. “In view of the foregoing circumstances, you are hereby given a final opportunity to immediately vacate the said building as well as the sit-in site at Ghalib Lawn in the North Campus, without any further delay, upon receipt of this notice, and leave the campus along with your companions,” the notice read. “If you do not vacate the said premises immediately, disciplinary and legal action shall be initiated against you,” it added. The administration said the mode of classes would be reviewed after the Diwali holidays, depending on the situation on campus.
