New Delhi: Minutes before 21-year-old content creator Muskan Sharma was stabbed to death at her home, allegedly by a man named Imran, his friend Digvijay had allegedly driven him to the spot. As Imran attacked the woman, Digvijay waited outside for about 15 minutes, served as his friend’s getaway driver and later provided him shelter, Delhi Police has stated in its chargesheet. The chargesheet, submitted at Tis Hazari courts on Sept 25, runs into more than 300 pages and includes the statements of 30-40 witnesses. Police have invoked BNS sections 103 (murder) and 249 (harbouring an offender) and requested that the trial be fast-tracked. The CCTV footage, police said, showed Imran entering Muskan’s house around 5.45pm and leaving around 6pm. On Aug 27, around 11.15pm, he allegedly opened fire at a police team that had cornered him near the sub-registrar’s office on Nala Road. A police inquiry revealed that in 2018, Imran had been booked under Pocso Act for allegedly sexually harassing a minor in Tilak Nagar. In 2021, he was involved in a culpable homicide case in which he allegedly assaulted a man, causing him serious head injuries.
Police said he fired four rounds, following which personnel fired seven rounds in self-defence and to neutralise the threat. His subsequent movements were also traced through CCTV footage, leading investigators to identify him as the prime accused. Police later traced Imran to Rajouri Garden. Imran sustained three gunshot injuries to his legs and was taken to Guru Gobind Singh Hospital in Raghubir Nagar. Digvijay was also arrested subsequently.
