Police to recreate crime scene with model murder accused after doctors declare him fit

The emergence of CCTV footage has added a fresh dimension to the case

New Delhi: Police is preparing to recreate the crime scene with murder accused Imran alias Aquib after doctors declare him medically fit, as investigators seek to establish the sequence of events leading to the killing of Delhi University student and part-time model Muskan.

The 26-year-old is accused of stabbing Muskan to death at her residence in Tilak Nagar on Aug 26.

Police said the recreation will help them verify Imran’s version of events, match it with physical and technical evidence and ascertain the alleged motive behind the murder. Police will seek Aakib’s remand after he is medically fit and discharged. During remand, they will question him about the murder motive, knife, source of the illegal pistol and cartridges, his movements while absconding and the people who helped him hide. Investigators are also probing whether anyone else was involved. Police have recovered Muskan’s iPhone, which he allegedly took after the murder and later discarded near a drain in west Delhi. The phone has been sent to FSL to retrieve data, including deleted chats, while Instagram has been approached for details of their conversations.
