48-year-old property dealer beaten to death in Kalkaji
NEW DELHI: A 48-year-old property dealer was beaten to death, allegedly by a group of people, in southeast Delhi’s Kalkaji late Saturday night. Cops received a PCR call regarding a quarrel at L-8, Kalkaji, at 12.03am Sunday.
Police said a civil dispute relating to the building is pending in court. Police are checking CCTV footage, said DCP, southeast. Police suspect a property dispute and disagreement over construction work at a building may have led to the incident. A mother and her daughter as well as a man were apprehended over the incident. They are also probing whether ongoing construction on the premises was connected to the attack. Dilbag claimed he saw members of a family standing with suspected attackers and egging them on to beat up his brother.
Around 20 minutes later, Dilbag was informed by locals that a group of people was beating up his brother. One of Lishant’s friends, 17-year-old Daljeet, was among the first to alert the family.
His family said he received a phone call at 11pm, after which he left his house on his scooty. I ran home after being punched while trying to intervene,” he said. “I was returning home when I saw Manjeet uncle in a heated argument with a few men, which turned into a fight.
