Earlier, CJP spokesperson Saurav Das reacted after Delhi Police detained a few protesters who had begun gathering ahead of the party’s Jantar Mantar 2.0 protest. He said he had received more than 300 calls and numerous WhatsApp messages within an hour.
During the detention, Dipke said, “You can see where the nation is heading. Send the male officers forward,” Dipke said. NEW DELHI: “Come on, arrest us! We have come here to get arrested. We are not afraid of you. They are here to arrest us directly from the flight. This is something even Indira Gandhi had not done. This is dictatorship, where Delhi Police has entered the flight and is trying to arrest us. “How did you come onto the flight? I will speak about this once I get outside. Please send the senior officers forward. I am not afraid of you guys,” he added. Das reposted a news agency ANI’s post on X reporting the detentions and wrote, “Not few. A storm is coming. Das also alleged that Delhi Police had exposed his phone number while circulating documents related to the party’s previous protest and a letter denying permission for the proposed demonstration at Jantar Mantar.
Meanwhile, YouTuber Dhruv Rathee was reportedly detained by Gurgaon Police on Saturday morning ahead of the protest.
