Two men were arrested Monday after an exchange of fire with Delhi Police in northeast Delhi’s

Police began a search after a firing incident was reported to the Bhajanpura station on Oct 2. The complainant reported that around 2.43am he heard a noise in the street and came out onto his balcony, where he saw two men riding a scooty and carrying pistols. Three semi-automatic pistols, 18 live cartridges and a motorcycle were seized.

New Delhi: Two men were arrested Monday after an exchange of fire with Delhi Police in northeast Delhi’s Bhajanpura in connection with a previous firing incident. They allegedly fired at him and into the air before fleeing. Police analysed CCTV footage and conducted raids at multiple locations to trace the accused. Acting on a tip-off, a trap was laid on the road from Nanaksar towards Third Pushta Road in Usmanpur. Police cornered the duo travelling on a motorcycle without a registration plate early Monday. When ordered to stop, the men allegedly opened fire. Police stated that Jasim and Kaif confessed to a previous shooting which was allegedly carried out on the directions of one Rashid .
