Hyderabad: A 24-year-old man died after accidentally falling under the wheels of a lorry carrying a Ganesh idol during an immersion procession near Khairatabad X Roads early Friday morning.
The incident occurred around 5 am when Shiva, along with others, was travelling from Karmik Nagar towards Tank Bund for the Ganesh immersion procession. 1166 in Khairatabad when he attempted to board the vehicle.
Shiva was walking alongside the DCM near Pillar No, according to Khairatabad police. The deceased, identified as Shiva , was a delivery boy and a resident of Karmik Nagar in Borabanda. He slipped and fell underneath the vehicle, sustaining severe injuries. He was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. The driver of the DCM fled the spot following the incident. Shiva’s body was shifted to Gandhi Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
