Member of Parliament Eatala Rajender
He said the dumping yard issue was a public concern that transcended political parties and flags. He said the govt’s failure to resolve the issue had forced him to take up the fight on behalf of the affected residents. His Maha Padayatra, demanding the relocation of the dumping yard, entered its fourth day, with Eatala touring Dammaiguda, Bhavaninagar and Nagaram and interacting with residents affected by the facility. Eatala accused chief minister A Revanth Reddy of going back on his assurance that garbage inflow into the dumping yard would be stopped within three months following a meeting with all-party leaders.
Hyderabad: BJP MP Eatala Rajender on Friday said he would seek Prime Minister Narendra Modi ’s support to secure funds for shifting Jawaharnagar dumping yard and would continue his fight until the facility was shifted.
Responding to criticism of his padayatra by Congress leaders, he said people were watching their conduct and that the public would decide their political future. All MPs would jointly meet Modi and seek the necessary funds, he said. He assured the affected residents that they were not alone and that the BJP would stand by them. Eatala asked the govt to prepare and provide a DPR for relocating the dumping yard if it was sincere about resolving the issue.
