Hyderabad : Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Tuesday strongly condemned the detention of Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi and other AICC leaders, including Priyanka Gandhi .
Because of arrests and imprisonment, cM Revanth made it clear that the Congress party would not stop its fight against the Election Commission’s errors simply.
The unlawful detention and arrest of Rahul Gandhi, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi, and other members of parliament from Congress and all INDIA alliance partners from both houses, is the reflection and proof of hubris of a failing govt, said Telangana CM Revanth in response. The British Govt also arrested Lokmanya Balgangadhar Tilak, Mahatma Gandhi, Pandit Nehru, Sardar Vallabhai Patel, Subhash Chandra Bose and other leaders at different times of our freedom struggle on similarly flimsy grounds,” Revanth said. “But as millions of citizens, especially youth, have become a part of this struggle to save our voting rights, our democracy and our country’s future, such actions shall not deter the opposition, but rather inadvertently, actually strength us,” he termed the BJP as the British Janata Party (BJP) and said: ”we are not going away from our determination and resolve to stake everything for the sake of the country.
“There are precedents in our country’s history. India shall fight till its last ounce of ability, and till democratic forces led by Rahul Gandhi triumph,” Revanth added. The CM asserted that the Congress would not rest until CEC Gyanesh Kumar resigns over the lapses.
Clearly, the BJP-led govt is afraid of Rahul Gandhi’s leadership to fight to save India and its Constitution, and to commit to saving the voting rights of every Indian, he said on Tuesday. Reacting to the brief detention of the AICC leaders by the Delhi police during an INDIA bloc protest march in New Delhi on Tuesday, Revanth said such acts by the police against the leaders who were agitating non-violently to protect democracy is undemocratic.
