The CM directed the Hanumakonda collector to ensure that the ₹10 lakh sanctioned from the CMRF reaches the deceased couple’s next of kin
Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Monday directed officials to extend financial assistance of ₹10 lakh to the family of Lingala Kedari and his wife Pushpalatha, who died in a tragic incident earlier this month, in recognition of their contribution to the Telangana statehood movement. In a separate case, the chief minister directed officials to sanction ₹5 lakh to the family of Mandala Raju, who went missing during the Telangana statehood movement in 2013. Raju (34), son of Mandala Sammi Reddy of Gorlaveedu village in Jayashankar-Bhupalpally district, had gone missing on June 20, 2013.
Raju had actively participated in the Telangana movement and was arrested and lodged in Cherlapally jail before going missing, according to a representation submitted by Bhupalpally MLA Gandra Satyanarayana.
Responding to the MLA’s request, the chief minister directed officials to provide ₹5 lakh to Sammi Reddy on humanitarian grounds under the Telangana martyrs’ quota.
