Hyderabad; BRS working president KT Rama Rao demanded chief minister Revanth Reddy to allocate 550 acres of Miyapur lands to Telangana martyrs and construct houses for poor and remaining for the public purposes.
The BRS leader said Revanth Reddy himself had promised in the Congress election manifesto that Telangana movement activists would be allotted 250 square yards of land. Speaking at a meeting where Congress workers from Serilingampally assembly constituency including a senior leader from Hydernagar Damodar Reddy joined the BRS on Wednesday, the KTR said that the govt was planning to establish a colony for Telangana martyrs’ families in Erravelli and questioned the logic behind the proposal as it is located about 70 kms from the city. Because former Chief Minister K, he alleged that the decision was politically motivated.
“If land has now become available in Miyapur, and if you are sincere, will you allocate plots to all those who worked for the Telangana movement?” he asked. We will wholeheartedly support it,” he said. We are not against such a move,” he said. Warning industrialists against participating in what he described as the “HILT Policy scam,” KTR claimed that any future BRS govt would review such land transactions. He also said BJP leaders Ramchander Rao touching the feet of Amit Shah during his visit to Hyderabad a couple of days ago.
Chandrashekar Rao resides in Erravelli and the village has become a focal point of Telangana politics. Instead, he suggested that martyrs’ families should be provided housing in Miyapur itself. “Construct excellent houses for the martyrs in Miyapur. “Build quality housing for the poor and allot homes to them. He expressed confidence that KCR would return to power within a year and asserted that a future BRS administration would put a stop to what he called questionable land dealings undertaken by the present govt. The BRS leader also criticised Congress and BJP leaders for mortgaging the self-respect of Telangana by shuttling between Hyderabad and Delhi.
He said that if 550 acres become available, portions of the land should be reserved for the poor, Telangana martyrs, and movement activists, while the remaining area could be utilised for public institutions such as schools and colleges. KTR also criticised the govt‘s reported plans to monetise the Miyapur lands.
