Hyderabad : A pack of stray dogs attacked at least four children in Tirumala Residency colony in Parigi town of Vikarabad district, leaving some of them seriously injured and prompting parents to fear for their children’s safety even while they play outside their homes or leave for school.

She sustained injuries to her face and neck. The attacks occurred in quick succession, with residents reporting that the dogs repeatedly attacked young children in the residential colony. In one incident, a stray dog bit a child on the neck, while another child suffered severe facial injuries after being attacked. The injured children were taken to the Parigi govt hospital, where they are receiving treatment. The repeated attacks have left parents anxious about allowing their children to step outside, particularly when unaccompanied. A Ramachandraiah, a resident of the colony, alleged: “We have repeatedly brought the stray dog menace to the attention of municipal officials, but no effective action has been taken. The continuing attacks have heightened fear among families in the colony, with children facing the risk of being attacked while playing near their homes or walking to school. Residents demanded that municipal authorities act immediately to catch and relocate the stray dogs to prevent further attacks. They also expressed anger over what they described as the officials’ failure to respond despite repeated complaints, warning that any further delay could put more children at risk.
