Hyderabad : The Central Crime Station (CCS) police have booked a case against the owner of a Chikkadpally-based jewellery showroom and her husband for allegedly cheating three city-based jewellers of over ₹9 crore.
CCS police received a complaint from Avinash Kumar Agarwal, proprietor of an Abids-based jewellery shop, on Thursday, stating that he had been supplying gold ornaments to K Srija, proprietor of a Chikkadpally-based gold and diamond business, since Feb 2026. Avinash alleged that while Srija and her husband Naveen initially made payments promptly, dues for 1,800 grams of gold jewellery remained pending by Aug 2026. The complaint further stated that the accused similarly induced representatives of two other city-based jewellers to provide jewellery worth ₹3.44 crore and ₹1.2 crore, respectively, citing GST invoices as proof of the transactions. Based on the complaint, police registered a case under Sections 318(4) (cheating), 316(2) (criminal breach of trust), 351(2) (criminal intimidation) and 61(2) (criminal conspiracy), read with Section 3(5) (common intention) of the BNS, against K Srija, her husband Naveen and her father Mahesh on Thursday.
Agarwal told police that Naveen claimed the bank was processing loans to clear the dues, but the promises were not fulfilled.
