The emergence of CCTV footage has added a fresh dimension to the case

Hyderabad : A 27-year-old postgraduate medical student was found dead under suspicious circumstances in a hotel room in Miyapur on Friday, with police launching a probe into the case and her family alleging that she was murdered by her boyfriend.

Police said preliminary investigation revealed that Srijana had checked into the hotel with her friend, Ravi , on Sept 30. Based on a complaint lodged by Srijana’s family members, Miyapur police registered a murder case and launched efforts to trace Ravi, whose role in the incident is under investigation.

Police said Srijana and Ravi had known each other for several years. Ravi is said to be a degree dropout. The deceased was identified as K Srijana, whose body was found in a decomposed state inside the hotel room. After speaking to her friends, they learnt that she had travelled to Hyderabad to meet Ravi. Her family subsequently lodged a missing person complaint with Hanumakonda police. Using mobile phone location data, police tracked her movements to the Miyapur hotel, where they found her dead. Do you believe that the police will be able to solve the case of K Srijana’s death? The two reportedly met while she was pursuing her MBBS in Mahbubnagar and later entered into a relationship. The body was shifted to postmortem examination to know the cause of death. There were no visible injuries and since it was in decomposed condition, investigators found it difficult to ascertain. Once the PME report is given by doctors, the cause of death will be known.
