Kolkata: Jayanta Kumar Biswas, a professor and distinguished biologist and environmental scientist from the department of Ecological Studies and the International Centre for Ecological Engineering (ICEE) at University of Kalyani, was elected as a fellow of Royal Society of Biology (FRSB), London.

This prestigious international fellowship recognises his exceptional scientific contributions to ecotoxicology, environmental microbiology, nanobiotechnology, and ecological engineering. Biswas is the first faculty member from Kalyani University to receive this prestigious honour, elevating the institution’s standing on the global research stage.

Listed among Stanford University’s World’s Top 2% Scientists, Biswas boasts an impressive academic footprint, including nearly 200 journal articles, 10 books, 56 book chapters, over 11,350 citations, an H-index of 53, and a cumulative Impact Factor surpassing 800. He also serves as the Asian Chair of Society of Environmental Geochemistry and Health (SEGH), UK.
