Raj said, “An attempt is being made to bring everyone associated with Durga Puja, from organisers to artistes and decorators, under one umbrella. Kolkata: A new Durga Puja coordination body led by BJP MLA Rudranil Ghosh is set to begin operation from Wednesday. Organisers proposed it as a statewide platform for puja organisers and an alternative to the Forum for Durgotsav. Kartik Maharaj has been chosen as the chairman of the Paschimbanga Durga Puja Samannay Samity, where Ghosh will be chief adviser. The other founding committee members are Pritam Sarkar , Sayak Raj, Dhiman Das and Prasenjit Saha, all senior members of different puja committees. This committee will maintain coordination and monitoring. An ad hoc committee will be formed and after the pujas, a proper district level committee will come up. Download the TOI App.
