CM Suvendu Adhikari
Kolkata: A 20-member team of Reliance Industries officials met CM Suvendu Adhikari, state chief secretary Manoj Agarwal, chief adviser Subrata Gupta and senior officials at Nabanna on Wednesday to discuss potential areas of investment in Bengal. Discussions covered investments in infrastructure, power and energy, healthcare, including a medical college. The possibility of developing projects through the public-private partnership (PPP) model was also discussed during the over two-hour meeting.
The meeting followed Adhikari’s visit to Reliance chairman’s residence in Mumbai on Sept 21, where they discussed industrial growth and employment in Bengal. In a post on X, Adhikari said they had exchanged views on “the immense possibilities for industrial growth and employment generation in West Bengal”. The undersea cable landing station being implemented by Reliance Jio at Digha in East Midnapore also came up for discussion. The project, expected to be completed in the next few months, is aimed at enhancing internet connectivity and data-transfer capabilities. Download the TOI App.
