Worse, two intruders still inside the house attacked him before scooting away with 20 grams of gold jewellery and 45 grams of silver ornaments. From Maruthi Layout in Katamnallur, his family had travelled to Andhra Pradesh on Sept 25, according to a complaint filed by P Jagadish. One intruder was tall and thin and wearing a helmet, and the other was of average height and had covered his face with a mask, according to his complaint. Jagadish, who works in the finance department at a private hospital in Hoskote, stayed back in Bengaluru. He and his friends planned a movie night out. Upon his return, Jagadish was aghast to find the front door of his house ajar. As Jagadish confronted them, the masked miscreant struck him on the head with an iron rod. As they tried to attack him again, Jagadish rushed out and sought help from neighbours. In the melee, the duo fled on a bike. Jagadish found gold jewellery, including a pair of earrings, a chain and six finger rings, missing from the cupboard. The thieves also made off with two silver waist belts, a pair of bangles and three pairs of anklets. Jagadish, bleeding from a deep head injury, informed his friends about the incident. He was taken to a hospital, from where he has since been discharged. Download the TOI App.
