Bengaluru: A morning ride to college turned distressing for a 19-year-old student when an unidentified motorcyclist allegedly flashed at her, made obscene gestures and repeatedly honked while pursuing her and her friend for nearly 2km on Oct 23 in Hosakerehalli, Banashankari 3rd Stage, in south Bengaluru. Pragati (name changed), a resident of Jayanagar, the incident occurred between 8.30am and 8.45am, according to the complaint filed by the student. A senior officer said a case has been registered under BNS Sections 78 (stalking) and 79 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman), and efforts are on to trace the accused.
Pragati was travelling towards her college on a two-wheeler ridden by her friend when, near a bakery, an unidentified man riding another motorcycle approached them and engaged in obscene and sexually inappropriate behaviour by flashing in a public place. The student approached Girinagar police the next day and filed a complaint.
