The programme will begin on Oct 13 with a session on ‘Epigram and Humour’, to be inaugurated by senior writer Vaidehi . The ‘Chiguru’ session on Oct 15 will provide a platform for budding poets. As part of the publicity campaign, a promotional vehicle will be flagged off at 11 am on Oct 5 and will tour various parts of Mysuru to create awareness about the event.
Addressing reporters, Dasara Kavi Goshti Sub-Committee deputy special officer M Dasegowda said the event has been organised to add a literary dimension to the Dasara festivities and provide a platform for poets representing different generations and genres. Dasegowda said the Kavi Goshti would bring together diverse poetic voices and also feature book and trade stalls. Actor Mukhyamantri Chandru will be the chief guest. Children’s writer Biligiri Krishnamurthy will inaugurate the event, and writer Agrahara Krishnamurthy will preside.
