Bagalkot : An unusual development has surfaced in Bagalkot with District Health Officer (DHO) Dr Rajkumar Yaragal relieving his daughter, Dr Ankita Yaragal, from government service over alleged unauthorised absence from duty.
In an order issued to Dr Ankita, a medical officer posted at a Namma Clinic in Wambe Colony, Bagalkot, Dr Rajkumar stated that she had joined a postgraduate medical course while serving in the health department without informing the taluk health officer or other competent authorities.
The order noted that Dr Ankita had allegedly remained absent from duty since Aug 28 and was signing attendance at the clinic only when convenient. Stay updated with the latest Hubballi news.

Referring to media reports on the matter, the DHO relieved her from service with immediate effect and warned that any financial loss caused to the government would be recovered from her. The order also stated that she could submit her grievances in writing. Dr Ankita had reportedly been serving as a medical officer since April. She is also the niece of Bagalkot MLA Umesh Meti.
