III additional district and sessions court at Srirangapatna has rejected the bail petition

A court rejected MLA Suresh Gowda’s daughter Aishwarya’s bail plea in the alleged assault of a woman PSI during temple duty

But though 20 days have lapsed, the Mandya district police have not acted in the case. MANDYA: III additional district and sessions court at Srirangapatna has rejected the bail petition of Aishwarya, daughter of Tumakuru Rural MLA Suresh Gowda of BJP. She has been accused of slapping, abusing and obstructing a woman police sub-inspector while she was performing bandobast duty at Aarathi Ukkada Temple near Srirangapatna in the third week of August. CCTV footage in which the MLA’s daughter is found slapping the police sub-inspector who was on duty has surfaced, which has attracted criticism from various quarters. Police sub-inspector Savitha, who was deployed for security duty from 2pm to 10pm, had lodged a complaint at Mandya Women’s Police Station that Aishwarya slapped her. The BJP MLA had apologised for the incident but had blamed the police officer of behaving arrogantly while Aishwarya has lodged a counter-complaint alleging that the PSI abused her.

The IO told TOI that the local court rejected Aishwarya’s bail petition on August 31 and they are probing the case.
