Mangalore Orthodontic Study Group (MOSG) has launched Orthodontic: The wider industry impact

The emergence of CCTV footage has added a fresh dimension to the case

Mangaluru : Mangalore Orthodontic Study Group (MOSG) has launched Orthodontic Awareness Week 2026, a campaign from Oct 5 to 11 to raise awareness about teeth alignment, jaw care and timely orthodontic treatment.

“Orthodontic treatment is not merely about straightening teeth; it improves chewing function, helps maintain oral hygiene, and balances facial growth,” he said. Shetty said that while treatments such as braces and clear aligners were widely accessible, patients should prioritise expert diagnosis and personalised treatment over aesthetics alone. Addressing a press meet on Tuesday, MOSG chief convener Dr Shravan Shetty said the campaign would educate people about the functional and health benefits of orthodontic care.

MOSG, in collaboration with local dental colleges and clinics, will hold educational sessions in schools, guidance programmes for parents and digital outreach initiatives.
