Mangaluru: Mangaluru City police issued a traffic advisory ahead of the Mangaluru Dasara and Navaratri festival at Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatha Temple in the city.
Every day from 4pm onwards, various dignitaries and thousands of devotees are expected to arrive at the Kudroli Temple between Sunday and Oct 21. Due to the possibility of traffic congestion on Kuloor Ferry Road in this backdrop, the public is requested to use alternative routes, stated Mangaluru City police commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy CH. He said the Kuloor Ferry Road from Car Street to Mannagudda Junction via Balaji Junction – New Chitra Junction – Alake Bridge – Kudroli Temple Gateway – Durgamahal Junction is likely to experience traffic congestion during the festival days. The public must park their vehicles only in the designated parking spaces, he said. The public is requested to cooperate with police to ensure smooth traffic flow and maintain law and order,” the commissioner said.
The commissioner advised motorists to take alternative routes for vehicles during evenings. Vehicles traveling from Kottara Chowki towards Car Street may proceed via Lalbagh–PVS–Navabharath route. Vehicles traveling from Car Street towards Kuloor Ferry Road may proceed via Navabharath–PVS route. The commissioner also requested the public to follow parking instructions during the festival. No vehicles should be parked on either side of Kuloor Ferry Road from New Chitra Junction to Brahmasri Narayana Guru Circle, nor on the roads connecting to it. “The instructions of the police personnel on duty must be strictly followed to manage traffic congestion.
