Bengaluru: A drug-peddling attempt in BDA Shivaram Karanth Layout was foiled by Vidyaranyapura police, who arrested two peddlers involved in selling methamphetamine and seized 106 grams of the narcotic substance worth around Rs 10.6 lakh. Based on information received by sub-inspector LD Madhusudan around 3pm on Sept 24, police learnt that two men were in possession of methamphetamine in a car and were attempting to sell it to customers in the layout. Police seized 106 grams worth around Rs 10.6 lakh, a digital weighing scale, two mobile phones, Rs 2,590 in cash and a car ( Hyundai i20 ) from the accused.
A case has been registered at Vidyaranyapura police station under the NDPS Act. The accused confessed that they sourced the drug from a Nigerian national and were selling it to consumers and sub-peddlers. They were also using chicken and mutton stalls as their den to sell the drugs.
