Mysuru : Forest minister Ramalinga Reddy Friday said foresters had handed over all relevant documents and evidence of the case of the three villagers killed in Hanur forests to Crime Investigation Department (CID). Reddy said while forest department was examining incidents within the forest, CID is investigating the case overall. “Forests must exist for the world to exist,” he said, stressing that people living in forest fringe areas must not face unnecessary inconvenience.
Speaking to reporters, he assured that forest personnel will be provided with adequate protection and urged the personnel to discharge their duties without inhibitions. Meanwhile, forest department has strengthened its emergency response mechanism to deal with human-wildlife conflict. Reddy formally handed over four jeeps and eight motorcycles to enable personnel to reach conflict spots quickly after receiving complaints.
