Shafiq, a local worker, said irregular parking and buses stopping along the road made it difficult for pedestrians to cross. The stoppage blocks vehicles attempting to turn towards GHS Road, forcing two-wheelers to manoeuvre around the obstruction while larger vehicles struggle to negotiate the turn. He attributed the congestion to roadside parking by two-wheelers, damaged footpaths and buses stopping close to the junction. He also alleged that some buses approach and halt at the junction at high speed. A local shopkeeper alleged that some commercial complexes permit shops to operate in areas originally intended for parking. The footpaths along GHS Road are uneven and discontinuous. they are broken or absent elsewhere, forcing pedestrians to share the carriageway with moving vehicles While proper footpaths are available at some points. With the area now under construction and expanding, available parking space has shrunk further.
