A North Western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC) bus and a lorry collided head-on near Haleritthi–Hosaritti villages on the Haveri–Negalur route in Haveri taluk on Wednesday.
Haveri : One passenger was killed on the spot and 11 others sustained serious injuries when an NWKRTC bus and a truck collided head-on near Haleritthi and Hosaritti villages on Haveri–Negalur route in Haveri taluk on Wednesday. The accident occurred when a truck coming from the opposite direction collided head-on with the NWKRTC bus travelling from Haveri to Negalur. The deceased was identified as Shankrayya Mathada, 55. More than 40 passengers were travelling in the bus at the time of the accident. Among the seriously injured are Nirmala Havinal, Sujatha Havinal, Gayatri, Rudrayya, Rekha, Shivalingappa and Murugayya. They have been admitted to the District Hospital and hospitals in Guttal and Hosaritti for treatment.
