A total of 238 girl students and women teachers from more than 10 schools and educational institutions, besides NGO representatives from Belagavi and nearby areas, participated in the celebration. Belagavi : The Maratha Light Infantry Regimental Centre (MLIRC), Belagavi, celebrated Raksha Bandhan with traditional fervour, highlighting the bond of trust and affection between the Armed Forces and the community. The event was attended by Brig Girish Upadhya, Commandant of The MLIRC, and Veda Upadhya, president of the Family Welfare Organisation, along with officers, their families and staff members. They tied rakhis to officers, JCOs, soldiers and Agniveers, symbolising the enduring relationship between citizens and those safeguarding the nation. The soldiers received the gesture with pride and gratitude, reaffirming their commitment to national service. For the students, the interaction offered a valuable opportunity to understand the values of courage, sacrifice, discipline and patriotism that define the Indian Army .
