Rating: 3 out of 5 Witness for the Prosecution , one of Agatha Christie’s celebrated courtroom thrillers, brings a familiar intrigue of mystery to the stage under the direction of Bhaskar Gauribidanur. The play opens with the murder of a wealthy elderly woman, with Leonard Vole emerging as the prime suspect. Vole, played by Abhinav Narayanan, insists that he is innocent and places his hope in his wife, Romaine Heilger, played by Vinayashree Jagadeesh, believing that her testimony could help prove his case. Bhaskar, as Sir Wilfrid Robarts, and Priyanka Rannorey, as Solicitor Mayhew, bring energy and conviction to their attempts to unravel the mystery. As the trial progresses, each witness statement adds another layer to the case and the mystery. One might think it’s a simple murder case charge but soon it becomes a maze of conflicting narratives, concealed motives and unexpected revelations.
