Hubballi Airport Hubballi Airport Hubballi Airport Hubballi Airport Hubballi: Hubballi Airport is undergoing a Rs 320 crore expansion to build a new, modern terminal that blends state-of-the-art facilities with the region’s rich Kalyana Chalukya heritage. The centrepiece is a unique canopy featuring 26 bell structures. The deadline for completion of the work was extended from Jan to Oct 31. The airport previously had the capacity to accommodate 500 passengers; this has now increased to 2,400 passengers, according to the officials. Seating arrangements for 1,200 passengers each have been made for both departures and arrivals, with 14 check-in counters being installed. Rupesh Kumar, Hubballi airport director, said that 90% of the work has already been completed. The final deadline for completing the airport was set for June 30 this year. An executive lounge, a VIP lounge and a parking space for 10 aircrafts are being provided at the renovated airport. The plan includes dedicated parking spaces for approximately 500 cars, 10 buses, 100 taxis, 100 two-wheelers and staff vehicles.

Nashik-based construction company has been awarded the contract for the construction of a new terminal building. Airport director has directed the contracting company to complete and hand over the international-standard facility within the revised timeline. “Inspired by Chandramouleshwara temple, the terminal has been built with bells. However, as some minor works were pending, the timeline will be extended by two to three months. He expressed confidence that the project would be completed by Nov this year. The airport will be equipped with cutting-edge new technology. Four aerobridges are being installed, which will connect the aircraft to the terminal.
